With the exception of a few overseas-incorporated banks which are covered by a similar scheme in their country of incorporation, all licensed banks in Hong Kong are members of the DPS. Restricted licence banks and deposit-taking companies are not members of the DPS and therefore deposits placed with them are not eligible for protection. All Scheme members will display the following membership sign at their places of business to which customers ordinarily have access. A list of Scheme members can be found here.
